The Sandbox has opened its Season’s Greetings 2025 celebration, introducing a holiday Advent calendar NFT that reveals daily quests from December 1 through December 24. Players mint the pass for 20 SAND and gain access to mini-games, puzzles, and winter-themed collectibles inside the virtual world.
Once minted, the calendar appears as a full walk-in structure, where each door hides a short challenge. Every door unlocks at 14:00 UTC on its specific day, and rewards become available once the mini-game is completed. Twenty-four NFTs were created by thirteen artists, ending with a limited Cozy Yéti Avatar behind the final door.
A Shift Toward Collectibles For 2025
This year’s event takes a smaller, more collectible-focused route compared to the 2023 edition. Two years ago, Season’s Greetings featured more than sixty experiences, branded worlds, and a major prize pool of 600,000 SAND. The 2025 version removes the crypto prize pool entirely and opens participation to anyone willing to mint the calendar. Missed days can be replayed, and all items can be claimed until December 31.
Inside the world, each numbered door presents a compact seasonal quest that ends with a winter collectible. Rewards are sent automatically, though short inventory delays may occur.
Event Arrives During A Transitional Year For TSB
The holiday launch follows months of internal changes at The Sandbox. In August, the company confirmed restructuring, leadership rotation, and tighter operations across global offices. Co-founders Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget moved out of executive roles, with Robby Yung from Animoca Brands stepping in as CEO. The platform now concentrates on fewer offices and uses new AI tools to support leaner development.
Meanwhile, the SAND token continues to face market pressure, dropping more than ninety-five percent from its peak. Still, the platform has kept steady activity for its community—Alpha Season 5 ran earlier this year with more than forty experiences and over one million dollars worth of SAND and NFTs. Alpha Season 6 followed in September with a thirty-SAND Premium Pass, a new reward pool, and exclusive Cirque du Soleil missions.
The Sandbox also rolled out Game Client 0.12 in 2025, adding multiplayer improvements, Quick Play lobbies, adaptive chat, NPC roles, and 3D NFT galleries. These upgrades aim to make social gameplay smoother and creator tools easier to use.
Season’s Greetings 2025 offers a lower-cost way for players to return, explore, and enjoy daily unlocks. Anyone can mint the calendar NFT throughout December and collect all rewards until the final claim window closes on December 31.
